Collecting & Internet:
a Luxembourger* and his Passion(s). The collector of old enamel porcelain signs
and other historical advertising objects François Besch (born in 1963, editor at
Tageblatt - print version), started building websites for collectors in 1996. During the last 14 years he realized a bunch of portal-sites for collectors worldwide. Among the best known figure Collector's Portal in German Language and Collector's Portal in English Language (formerly known as www.collect-online.com). Both sites have been redesigned in the last few months and offer lots of free services for collectors, from news and articles abtut all kind of arts, antiques and collectibles up to free classifieds sections, bulletin boards, galleries and more.
Another site created by the Luxembourgish collector and Internet-Freek is A Search Engine of Collectors Interest that only lists sites of collector’s interest. François Besch also built the first virtual advertising museum on the net, Reklamemuseum.
Two new german sites for collectors have been realized by François Besch in 2009. The first one,
social network for collectors only the second, A high quality directory for private collectors, should become a high quality directory for private collectors as well as for dealers, museums and galleries in the near future. A few weeks ago, a another site has been launched: On collector A social community for collectors every collector may publish blog-posts, photos or videos, classified ads ,… for free! This new social community for collectors offers lots of communicating applications to collectors:
