Krahmer Doll or not?

Counterfeiting of Krahmer-dolls or false data at selling of these dolls become more frequent in the offers and auctions

in the known portals.
Please remain sceptically concerningthe facts written by shady sellers. A very common misleading is for instance a wrong date of production. The first Krahmer-dolls were made 1947 but only for the children and the friends of
Hildegard Krahmer. The sale started about 1950. Of these first dolls only a few are still preserved. The majority of the Krahmer-dolls offered now are
made after 1970. The Krahmer firm was founded 1947 but produced different
crafts in the first years.

There never were Krahmer-dolls with a height of 30 cm. Krahmer-dolls never
had toes separated be seams and no rubber joints (limps fixed to the body by
rubber ribbons). The legs were made with disc-joints and the arms always are
sewed to the body.

Very characteristically and constantly are the faces of Kramer-dolls. New
face expressions, also only small changes around the eyes or the mouth,
should awake your distrust.
You also should be very cautiously if you are offered "old" Krahmer-dolls
with very full, shining hair. These are as rule not original wigs. The hair
of really old dolls mostly is thinned out and has lost its elasticity. One
can recognise this very good on pictures by the thin plaits. If the seller
has shampooed and treated the hair it is more voluminous again. In this case
ask for a written confirmation of the procedure.
